imaGenes continues the successful business which the RZPD German Resource Center for Genome Research developed from 2000 to 2007. Established 1995 as the Resource Center and Primary Database within the German Human Genome Project (DHGP) at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics (MPIMG) and the German Cancer Center (DKFZ), RZPD became an independant not-for profit company in 2000. As RZPD flourished, through 2006, it transitioned into a self-sustaining enterprise. From this, imaGenes was founded by the key management team of RZPD in December 2006 and started its operations in July 2007. RZPD’s website with its featured products and services is operated by imaGenes since August 1, 2007.
