Primary cells of visceral adipocytes are stomal-vascular cells (SVCs) isolated from the mesenteric fat tissue of 3-5 week old, male, Sprague-Dawley rats. The SVCs will differentiate into visceral adipocytes and proliferate in optimized culture medium without synthetic compounds to promote adipogenesis.
