Applications: Signal Transduction
Categories: Ion Channel Modulators

K+ channel toxin Alpha -KTx 1.2, Charybdotoxin-2, ChTX-Lq2, ChTx-d, Toxin 18-2, Lqh 18-2 Lq2 was originally isolated from Leiurus quinquestriatus hebraeus scorpion venom.rLq2 is a recombinant peptide expressed in and extracted from E. coli and purified to homogeneity. Lq2 blocks Kir1.1 K+ inward rectifier channels (Ki of 410 nM).In the planar lipid bilayer, it also blocked single KCa channels from rat muscle with intrinsic KD of 43 nM,by introducing brief closures. Lq2 inhibits Kir1.1 K+ inward rectifier channels2, as well as KCa channels1.
