Arctigenin potently inhibits the activity of MKK1 in vitro with an IC50 value of 1 nM and thus inhibits the phosphorylation and activation of MAP kinases ERK1/2, p38 kinase and JNK and their activities in Raw264.7 cells treated with LPS. It also inhibits LPS-induced iNOS expression via inhibition of IkBa phosphorylation and p65 nuclear translocation (IC50 = 10 nM) and inhibits HIV-1 replication in vitro. Solubility: soluble in DMSO and ethanol.
