PKN1 is a serine/threonine protein kinase that has been reported to mediate cellular response to stress. It belongs to the protein kinase C superfamily and is activated by Rho family of small G proteins. PKN1 can be activated by phospholipids and by limited proteolysis and may mediate the Rho-dependent signaling pathway.
