The RTP Pathogen Kit provides a fast and efficient way for reliable simultaneous isolation of high quality bacterial DNA, viral DNA and RNA from a diverse range of starting materials.

Start with up to 200 ul serum, plasma, cell-free body fluids, cell culture supernatant, up to 10 mg tissue samples, up to 400 ul rinse liquid from swabs, or 10^9 bacteria cells. Isolation procedure takes about 20 minutes, depending on starting sample type.

Obtain highly efficient recovery of high-quality bacterial DNA, viral DNA and RNA from different sources, allowing for very sensitive bacteria and virus detection.

Minimal handling steps and processing time since the pre-filled Extraction Tube contains a solid formulation of lysis reagents, carrier nucleic acid and an Internal DNA Control

Integration of an Internal Control allows the exclusion of false negative results.

Using the RTP Pathogen Kit all types of samples are transferred to the Extraction Tube together with a specially designed Resuspension Buffer. The pre-filled buffer and enzymes lyse the samples, stabilize the nucleic acids, inactivate RNases and DNases and enhance the viral and bacterial DNA and/ or RNA adsorption to the membrane of the SafeClick Spin Filter. Contaminants are removed by repeated wash steps and the purified nucleic acids can be eluted in a small volume of Elution Buffer.

By using the pre-filled Extraction Tubes, the preparation of carrier nucleic acid solution or enzyme solution, as well as the pipetting of different components to the sample during the lysis, are not longer necessary. This reduces handling steps with infectious samples, processing time and contamination risk to a minimum.

As a result of high extraction efficiency, the kit realizes high bacteria and virus detection sensitivities and the purified nucleic acids are ready to use analysis.

Qualified for research purposes only in the US. Not for diagnostic or in vitro use.
