p85? is one of three genes encoding regulatory subunits for the class-IA PI 3-kinases. It contains two SH2 domains that interact with tyrosine phosphorylated proteins and allow for the regulation of the class-IA PI 3-kinases by growth factors. Two splice variants of p85? have been described (p50? and p55?).
